Mt Everest grows by almost a metre to new peak


“Once the surveyor’s beacon had been put on the summit, surveyors at stations close to the summit measured the length from the six details to the beacon, which meant at the very least six triangles could be calculated to figure out the mountain’s peak,” Jiang Tao, associate researcher at the Chinese academy of surveying and mapping, instructed the state-run China Everyday.
