An exclusion zone has preserve the space encompassing the site of the 1986 Chernobyl nuclear catastrophe hidden from public view for a lot of years. But in 2020 there ended up a document sum of forest fires in the place.

The firefighters despatched in to tackle the blazes in the radioactive forests agreed to speak to BBC anonymously, frightened of dropping their jobs.

Their accounts expose a month of chaos in which fires pretty much attained the nuclear reactors.
