“…the disproportionate unilateral fork out cut imposed on pilots in the title of Covid-19 amounts to a gross reduction up to 58% of our rightful wages, from the thirty day period of April 2020… We have been very affected individual and have revealed a large amount of restraint to assure clean flight functions,” the Indian Commercial Pilots Association (ICPA, union of erstwhile Indian Airlines’ pilots) has written to AI chairman and handling director Rajiv Bansal on Thursday in a letter titled “humiliation of frontline workers”.
The letter details out that until now 171 AI pilots have tested Covid good while functioning Vande Bharat Mission flights during the pandemic. They have claimed that with air website traffic reviving, the pilots had been confident of sizeable reversal of pay cut.
“This pittance of a 5% reduce in the existing wage slash is an outright insult… This ‘generosity’ amounts to a reduction of close to 3% in the current gross spend minimize for pilots… while parliamentarians them selves have taken a lower of only 30% on gross emoluments and vehemently refused to choose a bigger cut, we imagine it is entirely egregious for us pilots to carry on tolerating this arbitrary enormous pay slash of 55% on our gross emoluments. We do not settle for this paltry 5% roll back in illegal fork out cut and you may advice the worried to donate this 5% towards resources for setting up the Parliament or PM Treatment,” the letter claims.
“If we do not see a well timed considerable reduction in this disproportionate pay slash, we will be compelled to seek justice via harsher usually means which include industrial motion,” it included.
