Born in Amritsar, Rafi was only 7 when he learnt Hindustani classical audio and at 13 made his playback singing debut. Renowned for his potential to mould his voice, the legendary singer crooned for scores of actors. In his illustrious occupation, he sung more than 5000 tunes in many languages.
