Olympic bronze and Earth Cup winner Indian hockey participant Michael Kindo dies | Hockey News

ROURKELA: India’s 1975 hockey Entire world Cup-profitable and 1972 Olympics bronze successful staff member Michael Kondo died at a medical center on Thursday thanks to age-similar ailments.
He was 73, and is survived by his spouse, a son and two daughters.

Kindo was bestowed with the Arjuna Award in 1972.

He was also in the staff that won a bronze medal in the 1972 Olympics in Munich. He scored a few targets in that version of the Games.
Hockey India condoled his death.
“We are deeply saddened by the demise of our previous hockey participant and 1975 Planet Cup winner, Michael Kindo. We mail out our heartfelt condolences to his loved ones,” the Hi explained in a tweet.

Odisha Main Minister Naveen Patnaik explained Kindo as a “tribal icon”.
“Deeply saddened to know the passing absent of hockey legend and Arjuna Awardee #MichaelKindo, a tribal icon and element of India’s Environment Cup winning group of 1975. My views are with his household and lovers,” Patnaik explained in his official Twitter handle.

Previous India captain Dilip Tirkey also condoled Kindo’s death.
“Hockey legend Michael Kindo will be remembered for his unforgettable sporting performances. He introduced home tons of satisfaction and laurels. Certainly a excellent hockey participant, he also built a mark as a wonderful mentor,” he tweeted.
