Future Wrexham house owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have donated revenue to fortify the squad.
But McElhenney, creator of It’s Usually Sunny in Philadelphia, uncovered they have manufactured a donation to the Wrexham Supporters Belief, the present proprietors.
Wrexham are 11th in the desk with the transfer window closing on 1 February.
“Takeover is however not 100% official and unfortunately it appears the handover will not be complete in advance of the transfer window closes,” McElhenney tweeted.
“So Ryan and I have designed a donation to the club to permit them (us?) to make some moves. Up the town!”
Wrexham stated in a statement the Hollywood stars had been “eager to make certain the club does not stand even now” though the move was ongoing.
“The donation will make sure Wrexham AFC have the finances to reinforce the squad in the remaining days of the transfer window,” the club stated.
“We expect new players will now arrive at the club by the time the window closes at the end of the thirty day period.”
McElhenney and Deadpool actor Reynolds have been exposed to be the mystery businessmen seeking to commit £2m into the club in September 2020.
Associates of the club’s supporters’ trust voted overwhelmingly in favour of the proposed offer in November.
