In a important shock to the BJP, the NCP on Tuesday managed to elect its mayor for the Sangli Miraj Kupwad Municipal Corporation, which was dominated by the saffron bash. The NCP’s Digvijay Suryawanshi was elected as the mayor of the civic overall body, immediately after 5 BJP corporators voted in favour of him.
“There are 78 associates in the civic system. Throughout the election, the NCP applicant bagged 39 votes, even though the BJP’s Dhiraj Suryawanshi acquired 36 votes,” the NCP’s district president Sanjay Bajaj mentioned.
