Jolt to BJP as NCP Wins Mayoral Election in Maharashtra’s Sangli

In a important shock to the BJP, the NCP on Tuesday managed to elect its mayor for the Sangli Miraj Kupwad Municipal Corporation, which was dominated by the saffron bash. The NCP’s Digvijay Suryawanshi was elected as the mayor of the civic overall body, immediately after 5 BJP corporators voted in favour of him.

“There are 78 associates in the civic system. Throughout the election, the NCP applicant bagged 39 votes, even though the BJP’s Dhiraj Suryawanshi acquired 36 votes,” the NCP’s district president Sanjay Bajaj mentioned. At least 5 BJP corporators voted in favour of the NCP applicant, even though two abstained from voting, he mentioned.

Previously, the BJP’s toughness in the civic entire body was 43, when the NCP’s was 34, he mentioned, adding that the bash managed to change seven votes in the election. Umesh Patil of the Congress has been elected as the deputy mayor, he reported.
