WASHINGTON – The Commerce Division on Thursday included 7 Chinese supercomputing entities to a U.S. financial blacklist citing countrywide safety fears.
The office included Tianjin Phytium Details Technology, Shanghai High-Efficiency Integrated Circuit Style Centre, Sunway Microelectronics, the Nationwide Supercomputing Heart Jinan, the Nationwide Supercomputing Centre Shenzhen, the National Supercomputing Centre Wuxi and the Countrywide Supercomputing Heart Zhengzhou to its blacklist.
The seven entities were being blacklisted for “creating supercomputers made use of by China’s armed forces actors, its destabilizing armed service modernization efforts, and/or weapons of mass destruction systems.”
