Upset to be dropped from TOPS: Para shuttler Sukant Kadam | Badminton News


NEW DELHI: Planet number 5 para badminton participant Sukant Kadam on Thursday expressed his disappointment immediately after he was dropped from the Goal Olympic Podium Plan (TOPS), saying he has been excluded from the programme without the need of any “justified cause”.
Kadam, a 2018 Asian Para Video games bronze medallist, took to Twitter to express his disappointment to Sporting activities Minister Kiren Rijiju on the Mission Olympic Cell’s determination.
“Hon’ble @KirenRijiju sir, It is very disappointing and discouraging to be excluded from #TOPScheme with out any justified cause and regardless of providing medal profitable effectiveness in all Paralympic Qualification events,” the 27-yr-outdated said.

Kadam experienced received a bronze medal in men’s singles SL4 event at the 2019 BWF Para-Badminton World Championships in Basel.
He was among the 5 para shuttlers who have been bundled in the TOPS in March 2019. The other shuttlers were Manoj Sarkar and Pramod Bhagat from men’s Singles SL3, Tarun and Suhas Yathiraj from men’s Singles SL4.
Athletes in the SL3 group commonly have an impairment in one particular or each reduce limbs, and lousy going for walks/functioning balance. To minimise the effect of their impairment, they play only 50 percent-courtroom (length-sensible).
